09/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 9 December, members of the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament accepted by acclamation the inclusion in the group of four Italian MEPs who had resigned from the 5-star movement (see EUROPE 12616/3). They are Ignazio Corrao, Rosa D'Amato, Eleonora Evi and Piernicola Pedicini. According to Ignazio Corrao, the votes of the four MEPs are 85 or even 90% behind those of the Greens/EFA group. For his part, the group's co-chair, Belgian MEP Philippe Lamberts, felt that these MEPs and his group had always been “on the same side in the [political] battles” led by environmentalists. With the arrival of these four Members, the Greens/EFA Group now has 73 members and an Italian delegation. (CG and MB)
