Europeans do not detect any fundamental change in Turkish attitude 

07/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – No Foreign Ministers felt that they had seen a fundamental change in direction in Turkey’s attitude towards the European Union, explained the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy at the end of the Foreign Affairs Council on Monday 7 December. According to Josep Borrell, the situation has even “worsened” in several respects. “The assessment is not good”, he insisted. On Thursday 10 and Friday 11 December, the EU Heads of State or Government will discuss the response to be given to the Turkish attitude. On Monday, a European diplomat said the lack of positive developments would lead the EU27 to discuss sanctions. (CG)
