07/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – ACCA, SMEunited, Accountancy Europe and EFAA stressed, on Monday 7 December, the need to ensure that SMEs are able to access professional advice, helping them to identify the most appropriate Covid-19 recovery support options available, and make the best use of them as they work towards a swift recovery through the crisis. According to the organisations, the current landscape of economic support measures in the EU is too complex and SMEs often do not have the time, capacity or knowledge to identify the most appropriate sources of finance and support. In a joint paper, they call on the European Commission and national governments to fully involve experts from SME associations and the accounting profession in discussions on support programmes for SMEs. They also call for a simplification and harmonisation of application requirements and procedures between the different European and national support funds. See document: https://bit.ly/3lOj2qT (MF)
