Commission clarifies conditions for provision of humanitarian aid in relation to Covid-19

17/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – After having done so for Syria in May (see EUROPE 12485/17) and for Iran and Venezuela in October, the European Commission announced on Monday 16 November that it had included Nicaragua in its Guidance Note on how Covid-19-related humanitarian aid can be provided to countries and areas around the world that are subject to EU restrictive measures. The Guidance clarifies the responsibilities and the processes for the provision of this aid in order to facilitate activities of humanitarian operators in Nicaragua, and the channelling of equipment and assistance to fight the pandemic.
