The European Commission published on Tuesday 12 May a guidance note on how humanitarian aid, in particular medical assistance to combat Covid-19, can be sent to Syria without violating EU sanctions imposed on the country - sanctions which provide for humanitarian exemptions.
The objective of this 15-page guidance note is to clarify responsibilities and procedures for providing assistance to facilitate humanitarian work in Syria.
