09/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – Within the framework of the Coronavirus Response Investment Initiatives (CRII and CRII+ – see EUROPE 12460/3), the European Commission announced on Thursday 5 November that they had approved changes to two Operational Programmes (OP) for Cyprus, thereby allowing the redirection of 57 million euros. The Employment, Human Capital and Social Cohesion operational programme, co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF), is to receive 36 million euros to finance short-time working programmes for almost 69,000 workers. In addition, the European Regional Development Fund is expected to provide 21 million euros to the health sector to finance various pieces of equipment (masks, coveralls, consumables) and personnel.
