13/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 13 October, Ladislav Hamran was re-elected to head Eurojust, the EU’s judicial cooperation agency, for another four-year term. In line with his previous mandate, Mr Hamran will prioritise the digitisation of Justice, the continuation of the fight against terrorism, and the strengthening of Eurojust’s partnerships with other EU agencies in the area of justice, in particular the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. The election took place during a meeting of the College of Eurojust held via videoconference due to the Covid-19 pandemic - a situation authorised by an EU Council Decision in July (see EUROPE 12533/22). The German member of Eurojust, Klaus Meyer-Cabri, was re-elected Vice-President in November last year. Eurojust’s second vice-president will be elected next month. (MF)
