29/09/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Co-Presidents of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, MEP Andrius Kubilius (EPP, Lithuania) and Ivan Krulko of Ukraine, proposed, on Monday 28 September, that this Assembly and its structures should serve as a meeting platform for members of the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Armenia “in the coming days” to discuss the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The members of parliament of the two countries could thus “discuss the next steps to end the violence and the unnecessary loss of human life” as fighting has claimed several lives in recent days in the region (see EUROPE 12569/15), the two men explained in a letter, obtained by EUROPE, to the Speakers of the Azerbaijani and Armenian Assemblies. “Any disagreement between the parties must be resolved through dialogue and not through the use of any military force”, they warned.
