After the 'Farkas' case, European Banking Authority adopts new ‘revolving door’ policy

The European Ombudsman, Emily O'Reilly, on Tuesday 1 September, congratulated the European Banking Authority (EBA) for following its recommendations on the ‘revolving door’ case in the wake of the Farkas situation.

Last May, the Ombudsman concluded that the EBA should not have authorised the transfer of Adam Farkas, its former executive director, to the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), one of the main lobbies of the financial sector (see EUROPE B12484A19).
