07/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – In 2019, in the majority of EU regions, the employment rate for non-EU citizens aged 20-64 was 59.8%, compared with 75.5% for citizens from other Member States and 73.8% for nationals. In 31 regions (out of 171 for which reliable data are available), less than half of citizens of non-Member States were employed. In the French overseas regions of Guiana and Mayotte and in the Belgian region of Liège province, the rate was less than 30%. On the other hand, the highest employment rates were recorded in three Czech regions and in the Lithuanian capital region of Vilnius, where more than 85% of non-EU citizens aged 20-64 were employed.
