07/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – Initially aimed at law schools and bar associations in all Council of Europe member states, the Programme on Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) conference (https://bit.ly/2Z3lZMa ) will be open to everyone this year. It will start on Wednesday 8 July at 9.30 a.m. and it will be streamed in English, French and Russian (https://bit.ly/3iwJu86 ). The topic will be the programme's response to the situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic in areas such as the implementation of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), the MEDICRIME Convention, bioethics, freedom of expression, safety of journalists, sport, the environment and alternatives to the detention of migrants. Robert Spano, the new President of the ECHR, will speak at the opening of the session on 9 July and on the second and last day of the Conference. (VL)
