Eight Member States are behind schedule with their energy efficiency targets, according to a coalition of civil society organisations

According to a report published on Monday 6 July by the Coalition for Energy Savings, a group of civil society organisations, eight Member States are not on track to meet their 2014-2020 energy efficiency obligations under the European Union Directive on Energy Efficiency (2018/2002).

The Directive requires each Member State to achieve cumulative energy savings of 1.5% per year from 2014 to 2020 (so that savings build up year on year), but Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Germany,...
