Establishment of dispute panels on Colombian French fries and Indian ICT tariffs

29/06/2020 (Agence Europe)Following the meeting of the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) of the World Trade Organization, two panels were established at the request of the European Union on Monday 29 June. The first, with India, will deal with customs duties (up to 20%) on European information and communication technology products (mobile phones and their components, base stations, integrated circuits, optical instruments) (see EUROPE 12227/22). The second, with Colombia, will address Colombian anti-dumping duties (3% to 8%) affecting almost all sales of frozen French fries from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands (see EUROPE 12370/19). At the same meeting, the EU rejected a first request for a panel by Indonesia for EU measures on palm oil and palm-based biofuels. (HD)
