24/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Eurospace General Assembly unanimously elected André-Hubert Roussel as Chairman of the Space Group in AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe on Wednesday 24 June. He will thus replace Jean-Loïc Galle. André-Hubert Roussel has been the CEO of ArianeGroup since January 2019. Mr Roussel insisted during his speech on the cardinal role of the space sector in guaranteeing Europe’s economic and strategic sovereignty in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis. Welcoming the election, Eurospace’s Secretary General, Olivier Lemaître, added that Eurospace’s role was “to make European political players understand that the space industry is no longer just a technological and scientific issue, but a strategic tool for the European economy and its influence in the world”.
