18/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – After a four-month break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the interinstitutional negotiations (see EUROPE 12429/8) on the Regulation on electronic service of judicial and extrajudicial documents in civil and commercial matters and on the Regulation to digitalise cooperation between the courts of the Member States in the taking of evidence (see EUROPE 12031/12) are ready to resume. According to our information, the Croatian Presidency of the EU Council is planning to hold a second political ‘trilogue’ by videoconference next week, between 22 and 26 June. A parliamentary source told us, on Wednesday 17 June, that the two sides had made progress at technical meetings and that a date for a ‘trilogue’ could indeed be set if sufficient progress was made at the technical level.
