18/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission plans to present a new package of “targeted amendments to financial regulations to facilitate the economic recovery post-Covid-19 crisis” on 22 July, according to a provisional agenda for meetings of the College of Commissioners, which was posted online on Tuesday 16 June. This new legislative package should follow the logic of the measures, presented at the end of April, to ease banking prudential requirements in response to the crisis and facilitate lending (see EUROPE 12476/8). According to our information, the Commission is currently examining what changes in the field of financial and banking services could improve liquidity and further facilitate access to finance for businesses and citizens. An adjustment of the Prospectus Regulation would also be under consideration. (MF)
