05/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – While the European Commission is "working towards a smart and sustainable recovery" of the transport sector, "talks on the impact of Air Traffic Management policy on [the] different involved professions are necessary", an official of the institution assured EUROPE. He was reacting to the decision of two organisations, including the European Transport Workers' Federation (ETF), on Wednesday 3 June to end their cooperation with the Commission (see EUROPE 12498/12). The organisations reported pressure on employers in the sector to reduce labour costs. When questioned, the Commission also indicated that Transport Commissioner Adina Vălean had held several online meetings with the ETF since the beginning of the crisis, "addressing, among other things, the problems facing workers".
