05/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The next three Presidencies of the Council of the European Union (Germany, Portugal and Slovenia) will specifically focus on implementation of the Energy Union, through an integrated, interconnected and sustainable European energy market, according to a draft of the Trio’s work programme dated 29 May. While examining the extent to which the energy sector can contribute to post-Covid-19 recovery, “the three Presidencies will foster close cooperation and exchange among Member States on the Energy Union’s Governance [Regulation 2018/1999] and the 2030-energy framework”, says the document obtained by EUROPE. With regard to future European Commission initiatives, the document mentions the initiative on offshore renewable energy, the revision of the TEN-E Regulation, and the intelligent sector integration strategy.
