The coordinators of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI) failed to agree on Friday 5 June to appoint a rapporteur for the REACT-EU regulation, but should be able to do so on Monday, ahead of the committee meeting.
Three groups would be interested in obtaining the text: the EPP, S&D and Renew Europe. The EPP has the most points to receive the report, given that Parliament is at the beginning of its term. But a format with a co-rapporteur could be considered.
The S&D takes over the three opinions on the Multiannual Financial Framework (BUDG is the Commission in substance), on the Public Sector Lending Facility under the Just Transition Mechanism (BUDG in substance) and on Recovery and resilience facility (ECON in substance).
On the other hand, the rapporteurs for the structural and investment funds remain the same: Andrey Novakov (EPP, Bulgaria) and Constanze Krehl (S&D, Germany) for the Common Provisions Regulation, Andrea Cozzolino (S&D, Italy) for the European Regional Development Fund and Manolis Kefalogiannis (EPP, Greece) for the Just Transition Fund.
