EU Council adopts agreements with Belarus on visa facilitation and readmission of nationals staying illegally

27/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the EU adopted by written procedure two decisions concerning Belarus, on a visa facilitation agreement and a readmission agreement respectively. The first agreement will make it simpler and cheaper (€35) to grant visas to certain categories of the Belarusian population to come to Schengen and the EU; the second aims to facilitate the readmission by Belarus and the EU of their respective nationals with irregular status.
