27/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – Transport & Environment, a European association that advocates for soft mobility, welcomed, in a press release issued on Wednesday 27 May, the European Commission's proposals on the next Multiannual Financial Framework and the Recovery Fund. But the ecological conditions under which projects can receive funding need to be clarified and strengthened, says T&E. The proposal includes a 25% climate spending target and stresses the need to invest in sustainable vehicles and charging stations. But there is a lack of a common definition for what constitutes “climate spending” or “sustainable vehicles”. For the organisation, the Commission should clarify that only zero-emission technologies and infrastructures should be supported. (PH)
