20/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Commission announced on Wednesday 20 May that it intends to raise almost €41 million, as part of Horizon 2020, to support nine research projects on cybersecurity and privacy. Five of these projects will focus on solutions that can be developed in these two areas for citizens and small and medium-sized enterprises. The other four projects will improve critical safety systems, such as healthcare infrastructure. €7.6 million will also be mobilised, through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme, for 21 other projects. These will be aimed at strengthening the EU’s cyber security capacity, which aims to “build a strong cybersecurity culture and capabilities to resist and respond to future cyber threats and attacks”, the Commission stresses.
