05/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 5 May, ACEA, CECRA, CLEPA, and ETRMA published a joint document in which they set out 25 actions to stimulate the automotive sector, which has been particularly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Among the main proposals, the associations ask for: - the introduction of temporary flexibilities in the competition rules to facilitate better coordination of financial support between economic operators in the value chain; - the introduction of immediate vehicle renewal schemes for all vehicle categories across the EU; - EU funding instruments to be directed towards targeted public procurement of new vehicles; - a proposal for an ambitious directive to develop alternative fuels infrastructure.
