04/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – Romania joins the 17 other Member States supporting the call to use the Green Deal as the 'roadmap' for the economic recovery (see EUROPE 12467/27), announced the Romanian Minister of Environment, Costel Alexe, in a statement published on Monday 4 May by the energy website InvesTenergy. Whether by chance or not, Romania has also submitted its National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) to the European Commission, four months after the original submission date (31 December 2019). The NECPs are documents drawn up by each EU country describing the strategy that the Member State intends to follow at national level, in particular with regard to energy efficiency and renewable energy, in order to contribute to the EU's energy and climate objectives.
