29/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – Age Platform, which advocates in the interests of older people in the EU, calls on the European Commission, in a press release on Wednesday 29 April, on the occasion of the European Day of Solidarity between Generations, not to delay the consideration process on demographic change and ageing, as the institution is revising its work programme for 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic (see EUROPE 12467/23). In this respect, Age Platform would like to see a Green Deal and future Multiannual Financial Framework that take better account of the social and societal issues also linked to demographic change. At the international level, it calls for the launch of a broad debate on how to include all generations in responding to today's challenges, such as the pandemic or climate change.
