17/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – After Poland and Romania, Estonia confirmed on Thursday 16 April its decision to join the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund. This fund, established in August 2019, is intended to create more opportunities to finance ambitious infrastructure projects in the energy, transport and digital sectors in Central and Eastern Europe. It is currently funded to the tune of over €500 million and the overall objective is to raise €5 billion. The Three Seas Initiative, created in 2015, is a platform bringing together 12 Member States bordering the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Germany, the EU and the US are the main partners. The Fifth Summit and the Third Business Forum of the Three Seas Initiative will take place in Tallinn on 19-20 October 2020. (CG)
