17/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU has decided to convene an informal Council of Interior Ministers by videoconference on Tuesday, 28 April, and announced this on 16 April at a weekly videoconference of Interior Ministers. Considering that it was time for the Ministers to meet in “Council” formation outside these weekly meetings with the Commission, the Presidency plans to take this opportunity to take stock of the measures taken in response to Covid-19, on internal and external borders (in particular the restrictions on travel to the EU and the planned extension until 15 May), on asylum procedures, and to return to some extent to the follow-up on the decisions taken at the beginning of March on the Greek-Turkish border. The migration situation could be the subject of a point of information. The national ambassadors in the Committee of Permanent Representatives will set the agenda on 20 April. (SP)
