Mr Borrell and Mr Pompeo say there is an urgent need to strengthen international co-operation to combat coronavirus

The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, announced on Friday 27 March, following a telephone conversation with the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, that they had agreed “on the urgent need to step up international cooperation and humanitarian assistance for medical purposes to the most vulnerable countries” (see EUROPE B12455A21).
