Allied citizens have rather favourable opinion of Alliance

10/02/2020 (Agence Europe)According to a poll published on Sunday 9 February by the Pew Research Center, 53% of citizens in NATO member countries have a favourable opinion of the Alliance, while 27% have an unfavourable opinion. But there are significant disparities between countries. For example, while 82% of Poles have a positive opinion (8% no), only 37% of Greeks have a positive opinion (55% no). Just under half (49%) of the French and Spanish have a favourable opinion of the Alliance. In Germany, 57% were favourable. And although between 2009 and 2019, favourable opinion increased by 18 points in Lithuania (from 59% to 77%), it fell by 16 points in Germany (from 73% to 57%) and 22 points in France (from 71% to 49%).
