29/01/2020 (Agence Europe) – More than half (52%) of taxi and Uber customers in seven European countries (UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium) are willing to pay 15-20 euro cents more per kilometre for an emission-free journey, according to a new online survey conducted by YouGov and published on Wednesday 29 January by the NGO Transport & Environment (T&E). In addition, the survey shows that the people most exposed to Uber, those living in large cities, have a more negative perception of the company's impact on pollution (see EUROPE 12375/16). ‘’Uber must now do its part for the climate and our health", reacted Yoann Le Petit, mobility expert at T&E, calling on Uber to electrify its fleet by helping its drivers cope with the initial costs of switching to electric cars.
