Despite shortcomings, ecodesign and energy labels improve energy efficiency, says European Court of Auditors

The European Union's actions in the field of ecodesign and energy labelling have made a significant contribution to improving energy efficiency, even if problems persist, concluded a new report by the European Court of Auditors (ECA) published on Wednesday 15 January.

Among the positive elements, the report notes that the European Commission had used reliable and transparent methodologies to select the products to be regulated.
