15/01/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission is going to fund two projects to improve collaboration between EU countries to combat cyber threats. The Commission announced the funding totalling €3.5 million from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) in a press release issued on Wednesday 15 January. The aim of the first project is to support a network of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) in member states that will respond to security incidents on networks and in information systems. The network, which is called MeliCERTes, will receive a grant of €2 million. The second project, which has a budget of €1.5 million, will work to create and develop co-operation mechanisms for Information Exchange and Analysis Centres (ISACs) for a range of essential services defined in the directive on security of network and information systems.
