Call for proposals on promotion of EU agri-food products

The European Commission launched on Tuesday 14 January the call for proposals for campaigns to promote the purchase and consumption of EU agri-food products.

These campaigns will be co-financed by a budget of €200 million from the European budget. Of this, €118 million will be allocated to campaigns in high-growth countries such as Canada, China, Japan, Korea, Mexico and the United States. The remaining amounts will be used to promote products within the EU.

The call for proposals is open to a wide range of organisations, such as trade associations, producer groups and agri-food groups responsible for promotion activities.

So-called ‘simple’ campaigns may be submitted by one or more organisations in the same Member State. ‘Multiple’ campaigns may be submitted by at least two organisations from at least two Member States or by one or more European organisations. Campaigns generally run for 3 years.

Proposals must be submitted before 16 April 2020 via the dedicated portal. The Commission will evaluate the proposals and announce the beneficiaries in the autumn. (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
