07/01/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 7 January, under the EU Merger Regulation, the European Commission approved the acquisition of sole control of the German company SAS Autosystemtechnik GmbH & Co. KG (‘SAS’) by Faurecia Automotive GmbH (‘Faurecia’), another German company. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise any competition concerns, as Faurecia already controls SAS. Faurecia is a subsidiary of French company Faurecia S.A. and is ultimately controlled by Peugeot S.A. SAS is currently jointly controlled by Faurecia and Continental Automotive GmbH ('Continental', a German group). Faurecia is a French automotive supplier active in the design, manufacture and supply of components for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. SAS specialises in the assembly of cockpit modules for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. (LC)
