11/12/2019 (Agence Europe) – The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called for a “stronger response” from the EU to the growing challenge of anti-Semitism on Tuesday 10 December at a conference in Brussels. In doing so, she announced that the Vice-President of the Commission responsible for promoting the European way of life, Margaritis Schinas, would be supported in this task by “a new dedicated team, with very experienced people”, who will also work alongside the European Anti-Semitism Coordinator, Katharina von Schnurbein. “Antisemitism is a poison for our community. And it is up to all of us to fight it, prevent it and eradicate it”, she said. (MF)
