05/12/2019 (Agence Europe) – SMEunited's general assembly elected Alban Maggiar of France as its new head on Tuesday, 3 December. He will succeed Ulrike Rabmer-Koller of Austria. Vice-President for European Affairs at the French Confederation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (CPME) and President of SMEunited's Economic and Fiscal Committee, he will take over from January 2020. The SME strategy prepared by the new European Commission will be the priority for the new President, he said in his acceptance speech. Mr Maggiar hopes to see the creation of a task force for SMEs that would be transversal to all DGs of the European Commission, in order to apply the “think small first” principle. The working theme for 2020 will be dedicated to sustainable SMEs, he announced, echoing the new Commission's Green Deal. (PH)
