28/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy announced on Thursday 28 November the appointment of the German candidate Sven Kuehn von Burgsdorff as Head of the EU Office to West Bank and Gaza Strip. Mr Kuehn von Burgsdorff is currently the Senior Advisor on Mediation to the Deputy Secretary General in charge of Common Security Defence Policy-Crisis Response, European External Action Service (EEAS). For his part, Olof Skoog will become Head of the EU Delegation to the United Nations. This Swedish diplomat is currently Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations. The two men will be formally appointed after receiving the approvals, the EEAS said in a statement. (CG)
