18/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – The countdown to the National Ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper)’s meeting on 22 November regarding the confidentiality of electronic communications has began. Member State experts met one last time on Monday 18 November to discuss a very latest version of the text, which deletes, for example, the reference to dominant players regarding the prohibition of cookie walls (those practices that prevent users from accessing a site if they do not agree to be tracked). According to our information, a negative vote by the Ambassadors to the EU could take place; France, Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom could indeed bring with them a blocking minority.
