Commission opens in-depth investigation into Fincantieri’s proposed acquisition of Chantiers de l'Atlantique

The European Commission decided on Wednesday 30 October to open an in-depth investigation to assess Fincantieri’s proposed acquisition of Chantiers de l'Atlantique under the EU Merger Regulation (see EUROPE B12359A20).

“The Commission is concerned that the transaction may reduce competition in the global cruise shipbuilding market”, the institution explains.
