Court will publish a report on the performance of EU policies in 2020 for first time

On Wednesday 30 October, the European Court of Auditors published its work programme for next year, which includes 41 special reports on various subjects and the publication, for the first time, of an annual report on the performance of EU policies.

In the field of natural resources and climate, the Court of Auditors is planning special reports on EU actions to reduce the risks associated with the use of pesticides, plastic waste, the emissions trading scheme and measures to prevent the decline of pollinators.

In the area of cohesion and growth, audits are planned on the road network linking European regions, on investments in the cultural sector or on child poverty.

Migration, security and development. Priority will be given to education in humanitarian emergencies, the evaluation of Frontex and the rule of law in Ukraine. 

Single market and EMU. The Court will assess EU state aid in the banking sector and measures to avoid financial crises.

Administration. The Court will audit the Commission's current programme for better regulation, information on legality and regularity in the field of cohesion, the strategic agenda for EU-Asia cooperation and customs risk management.
