On Thursday, 24 October, the European Commission proposed reducing fishing opportunities for cod in the Celtic Sea by 88% in 2020 and to significantly reduce catches of horse mackerel, sole, pollack and herring in some areas of the Atlantic. A 20% reduction in hake TACs is also planned.
