New calendar on electronic communications confidentiality and competence centre

23/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – No white smoke on the confidentiality of electronic communications (see EUROPE 12351/8) and on the European Competence Centre (see EUROPE 12348/15). On the first subject, the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the EU decided to convene a further technical meeting on 7 November, before considering taking the matter up to ambassador level (Coreper). The second issue was discussed in a cybersecurity working party on 15 and 22 October, mainly on financial aspects. But the experts are expected to take it up again on 28 October, this time by analysing the whole text. (SPj)
