Commissioner for Human Rights welcomes legalization of abortion and same-sex marriage in Northern Ireland

23/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – In a tweet published on Tuesday 22 October, Dunja Mijatovic, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, welcomed the “important steps forward” represented by “the decriminalisation of abortion and the introduction of same-sex marriage in Northern Ireland” (see EUROPE 12354/25). This is, she said, “a memorable day for the equality of women and LGBTI people”. (VL)
