The Vice-President of the European Parliament's Subcommittee on Human Rights, Irina von Wiese, called on Wednesday 25 September for the release of those arrested on 20 September while demonstrating against the regime of Egyptian President al-Sisi. According to several NGOs, more than a thousand people have been arrested.
