General Court annuls fine imposed on HSBC group in respect of anti-competitive practices in the interest rate derivatives sector

On Tuesday 24 September the EU General Court annulled the European Commission's fine of €33.606 million imposed on the HSBC group for anti-competitive practices in the interest rate derivatives sector (judgment in Case T-105/17).

In December 2016, the European Commission decided to fine Crédit Agricole, HSBC and JP Morgan Chase for agreeing on the pricing elements of interbank interest rate derivatives in the euro (EURIBOR) (see EUROPE B11684A3).
