In terms of attendance, European films are now more successful in China than in North America. This is the main finding of a new report by the European Audiovisual Observatory published on 5 August.
The report notes that 671 European films were released outside Europe in 2017. The film 'Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets' was the most successful, with 19.4 million tickets sold.
