Almost 10% increase in requests for access to documents in 2018

The number of requests for access to documents amounted to 6,912 in 2018, an increase of 9.5% compared to 2017. This comes from the report published by the European Commission on Monday 29 July on the application in 2018 of Regulation 1049/2001 regarding public access to European Parliament, Council of the EU and Commission documents.

The Commission issued 7,257 initial responses to these requests for documents, compared to 6,716 in 2017, representing an increase of almost 7.5%.
