Renaissance, the French list for the European elections of La République en Marche, MoDem, Agir, la droite constructive and the Mouvement Radical/Social-Libéral published, on 8 May, its programme entitled "Let's take back control of Europe’s destiny".
Through nine main axes, Renaissance details 79 proposals.
First of all, the list aims to "make Europe a green power", in particular by investing "massively" in the ecological and solidarity transition, by leaving glyphosate by 2021 and by defending the agricultural budget to ensure a high income for all farmers.
In order to "build a Europe of social and fiscal justice", it proposes the taxation of digital giants, the harmonization of corporate taxation and the introduction of a minimum wage.
Renaissance intends to "ensure that Europe is respected in the context of globalisation" through a eurozone budget, a common industrial policy and the refusal to sign free trade agreements with countries that do not respect the Paris Climate Agreement.
Wishing to "give Europe the means to defend itself", Renaissance wants to move towards the creation of a European army, create a European Agency for the Protection of Democracies against Attacks, Manipulation and Disinformation and a common anti-terrorist judicial register to share information.
Renaissance wants to "ensure that our values and borders are respected" through a European asylum policy and the safeguarding of Schengen, and a European Council on Internal Security to steer and coordinate migration issues and the common asylum policy.
According to the list, "Uniting around the European identity" means an Erasmus open to all, from high school students to apprentices and a tripling of its budget.
To "return Europe to the citizens", it proposes to make access to European funds conditional on respect for the rule of law and social convergence, to give the European Parliament the power to initiate European legislation, to reduce the number of European Commissioners and to increase own resources.
As for a "European feminist policy", women's rights must be harmonized from the top down and parity must be achieved within the European institutions and agencies.
Finally, to "make the European Renaissance successful", the list intends to organise a Conference for Europe to review EU policies and its institutional functioning, identify key priorities and the necessary changes.
