Weekly meeting of the College of Commissioners - Commission contribution to the informal meeting of Heads of State or Government in Sibiu on the Union's Strategic Agenda (Juncker). - Communicating Europe (Communication on how to make the Union more united, stronger and more democratic in terms of communication) (Juncker).
  • Luxembourg. * Court of Justice of the EU. #Opinion: Opinion 1/17 (EU-Canada ECG Agreement – Opinion on the compatibility with EU law of CETA provisions on the settlement of investment disputes between investors and States) #Findings: C-390/18 (AIRBNB Ireland – are the services provided by AIRBNB in France information society services benefiting from the free movement of services and can AIRBNB be required to comply with the French rules on the exercise of the profession of real estate agent?).

Thursday 2 May

  • Bucharest. Council of the EU. Informal Meeting of Ministers responsible for Competitiveness (and 03/05) *Economy: Meeting of Ministers responsible for Economy, Industry and the Internal Market of the Twenty-Eight and their counterparts from Switzerland and Norway. The Economy Ministers will discuss one of the priorities of the Romanian Presidency: the promotion of connectivity and digitisation, entrepreneurship and the strengthening of industrial policy throughout the EU to contribute to convergence and cohesion.

Informal Meeting of Ministers responsible for Competitiveness (and 03/05) *Industry: – Discussions on entrepreneurship, SMEs, start-ups and growing companies: their contribution to EU competitiveness (update on the implementation of the Small Business Act for Europe and the Entrepreneurship 2020 Action Plan, future policies to stimulate entrepreneurship) – Roadmap for energy-intensive European industries for energy transition *Internal market: discussions on an integrated approach for the industry and for better implementation and enforcement of Single Market rules to support the competitiveness of European industry and the development of strategic value chains.
