26/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 26 April, the European Commission announced that it will be providing support worth €33.12 million to 13 projects to allow these innovative projects to reach the market more quickly. These projects, involving 57 partners in 17 countries, include technological solutions for recycling rubber from old tyres, a magnetic ink barcode reader for use in combating counterfeit products, new generation photovoltaic windows and a neuro-prothesis that allows amputees to experience the sensory response from the prosthesis. The funding comes from the pilot phase of the European Innovation Council (EIC), which targets rapid and high-risk innovation with strong potential for creating new markets.
